Robotic Surgery

Robotic Surgery is a specialized art of surgery, wherein the surgeon has to formally train in robotic assisted surgery. Dr Krunal Khobragade completed his MCH Surgical Oncology (gold medalist) and Fellowship in Robotics. He specializes in robotic surgery for GI, HBP and Peritoneal cancer.

Robotic surgery is a specialized treatment for precision surgery for organs that are hard to reach. A skilled robotic surgeon performs the procedures through small incisions assisted by technology for precise movement. The robotic arm consists of : a robotic arm, a camera for 3D magnification and a console. An experienced surgeon controls the instrument to perform surgery in hard to reach areas.

Robotic surgery is known to be highly successful for GI, HBP and Peritoneal cancer. A small incision is made to reach the organs, the magnification offers greater precision to perform the surgery anywhere inside the body.

Benefits of Robotic Cancer Surgery:

  • Less loss of blood
  • Quicker recovery
  • Lesser hospital stay
  • Infection risk is much lower
  • Minimal scars
